Floor repair, floor patch, old house floors

original floor repair of flake board, made by repairman
Hole in the floor no more. Mr did a patch to the original floor, a patch to cover the butchering done by the plumber or handyman in search of frozen pipes. Mr's work is certainly an improvement, but not the best looking repair. At least this patch has the same texture as the original wood, and it doesn't have big holes around it, like the previous patch had.  The only thing that would have been better is to have installed boards of irregular length to blend the patch into the floor. Being old wood, it was difficult to match the depth of the boards, Mr did the best he could to find wood to match it. You win some and you lose some, this is the best we can do and that is it. Thank goodness it's done! A small improvement and an obvious annoyance removed.
