In honor of the arrival of special guests two weeks ago, we collected the tomatoes and made BLTs for dinner. The word treat does not fully describe the delight experienced by my taste buds. Love it! I took some photos of the veggies ripening for harvest. The little Sweet 100s above taste like you are eating candy when you munch on them. The smaller tomato at the bottom is an Early Girl I believe, but I am not really sure. We didn't document where we planted each breed of plant, they went in haphazzardly. Our sandwich tomatoes were much bigger and riper than this one, but it gives you the idea of what we are yielding. The peppers went into sausage, pepper and onion stir fry. It was outstanding! These vegetables were as beautiful as they were delicious. We have been living off of our garden vegetables and losing weight, in addition to eating superior local food. Doesn't get much better than this, except if you have a personal chef to cook it all up for you. We are doing a version of that very frequently. When cooking we make at least double what we need, and we invite our friends/neighbors over. In turn they do the same. It has worked out great for us all. Company for dinner, half the cooking, and great conversation. It has been a good food summer!
