Oh it is like beloved relatives leaving after a visit, sadness creeps in. Our passle of male hummingbirds have departed the garden to migrate south for the winter. Without the formality of a goodbye we found that they had left when we sat out for breakfast two days ago. We still have a female and a juvenile, and they are fun to watch, but not nearly as much activity as before. They are so entertaining!
Fall is really announcing its arrival. Evenings have turned cooler, flowers are not blooming as much as last month, and the winds are kicking up as they do in the fall. It makes for great sailing, but not much else.
The air conditioner condenser burned out and fried yesterday, so we are back to repair mode. Mr slammed a door last week and shattered the glass in the door, all crashed to the floor very dramatically. It is a good thing he wasn't injured by the glass that could have been another disaster. I don't think I can handle another disaster right now, so it was a blessing that it just made a mess and not a catastrophe. It looks like there will be some house changes soon. I hope so!
