It has poured rain over the last forty eight hours, finally clearing up this morning. The hummingbirds left on October 12, we miss them already. It's like they knew this wet cold weather was coming. The experts tell me that the light is what tells the hummers it is time to go south. Funny, I am getting that same message from the light and the cold. It is time to go elsewhere, this cold and wet is not for me. My bones are hurting big time. It is only a matter of time before the flowers are gone, and that will really make things dreary.
My Salvia are still full and red, the butterflies are loving them. I have beautiful pink dahlias out there...the ones I thought I would ditch at the end of the season. They now appear worth rescuing. Impatience, Morning Glories. My Salvia are still full and red, the butterflies are loving them.
The dahlias I said I was disappointed in and would ditch at the end of the season, have developed impressively, a great shade of pink with spiky petals. They now appear worth rescuing. They have great color and shape. There is an amazing amount of color out there. The Impatience, Morning Glories, Campanula, Buddleia Butterfly Bush, all are still blooming. Tonight is going to be cold. It could finish them all off. If only it would stay warm!d t
FouFhey would keep on blooming! Campanula, Buddleia Butterfly Bush, seed Dahlia, Petunia, Chrysanthemums, all are still blooming and looking great.
Block Foundation repair continuesby Block Mr is making progress on his foundation. Oh it is such a thankless job. It is a job that will make no difference when we sell this house. We will not get a single penny back on this investment and Mr is not going to get back any of his time and efforts. As I said a thankless job to be sure. It looks great, he said it is going great, except that he has come down with a horrendous cold and is just physically wiped and cannot go on. This is a lonely job when working alone. It is young man's work and Mr is not young, nor ambitious. He is cold and troubled about his shelter and just trying to get by on his own efforts. Hopefully it will be over soon.
