Foundations, footings, fall harvest

I was a bit melancholy today. It is likely that this beautiful  basket of veggies is my last harvest of the year. Under any circumstances the fact that I hauled all of this in on November 12,  is damned impressive. Some of these tomatoes are actually quite good looking, clean and crack free. The best part is they still taste great.
Here's a toast to our garden 2010, it was the best yet here, and our best veggie garden in many a year.

More fill in walls have been removed, and there are more piles of bricks to make into walkways. The kitchen is up on blocks like an old car, and the trenches have been dug to make footings. Mr has accomplished so much, it is very impressive.  The whole work location is divided up like a supply yard, with piles of bricks, blocks, mulch and other materials used in this project. Just seeing the materials is daunting. It takes a lot of perseverance to get this much accomplished, as I said, it is impressive.

After rebuilding the chimney the original project is back on track and the foundation is again front and center. Forms were laid today to cast concrete for the footings. They could not be completed because rebar had to be purchased. As of tonight that task is completed, they should be cast tomorrow.  The new foundation actually makes an improvement in the appearance in the house, who'd a thunk?
