chimney

A windy windy day, and mister spent it up on the roof patching the hole that goes through the roof for the chimney. This damn project has put a huge hole in our pockets and in our time management. It made a huge mess of sand all over the floor of the inside of the house when it first went off kilter, and since then it has all been downhill. Today was a day of making flashing, patching roof shingles, and as I said before, patching the hole in the roof with lumber.

Besides the uncomfortable roof sitting, and the empty pockets, there is the pain of putting in all of this blood sucking work, for little pay off. At the end of all of the work there is no fireplace to enjoy and cuddle up to, or hot tub to soak in, or new bathroom to self indulge in...no, there is just a chimney. Lets hope we get onto improvements that will actually make our life more comfortable and up to the standard of living we are used to, instead of just getting the house up to the standard of bottom line.  Yeah, this gets old fast. I am not even the hard working brick hauler doing the work, and I can not escape that feeling.

It was also a big delivery day. The fact it was delivered at all was a treat.  All other supplies have been hauled by Mr and D. This time the supplies could be planned ahead and order as a whole. Today was delivery day for the supplies of the next round of foundation construction, and Mr enjoyed seeing somebody else expend the energy to haul blocks, even if it was just a machine doing it. It meant he didn't have to.  That is a lot of blocks, mortar and concrete!
