Now, back to her latest adventure. When left alone in the living room she singlehandedly ate through the wood under the window. It took a few moments to figure it out, but she did so in pursuit of some critter she smelled on the draft coming through the wall. The wind up is we have another repair project as a result of her exploits. Some problems you just don't see coming. Since she did the damage we have seen a racoon, squirrel, and a marsh rice rat outside that same window. That convinced us she wasn't nuts, just obsessive. What can you do? I guess we should be pretty happy she didn't take down the Christmas tree in her track down.

Dog eats wall...
We had a bit of an excitement here the other night. Our family dog, a retriever and chow mix, got a whiff of leaking air under the window frame. The unexplained draft wafting in from places unknown in the house structure is an everyday occurrence for us, but for this pup it was something new and enticing. This is about the best canine hunter you could ever ask to meet. She is the dog that came walking up with a box turtle in her mouth after spending fifteen minutes being ignored by us, as she pursued the unidentified target under the shed. Lets suffice to say I would not want to be a critter in the same yard with her. When she is on the hunt there is nowhere to hide. She looks pretty tame but actually she is relentless!
