Hanging pot plant selection, portulaca
My hanging pot has bloomed out to lovely color this year. I chose a different selection of colors and plants this season, and it is working out nicely and it is still pretty early in the season! When I first wrote of it a couple of days ago, it was low on blooms. Things have changed since then, and it has filled out with lovely colors. You can see the photos of it above and to the right.
I must write a bit about this really pretty Portulaca that I bought, without seeing the true color. I purchased a generic pink Portulaca, but what bloomed was a rich bi-color pink flower with a yellow center. The petals look like ruffly chiffon speckled with confetti. I love it! The colors enliven the garden bed. Note the splatters of dark rose, on the pale pink. What a fortuitous purchase.
