Waterfront Home, Backyard view, Shore Side Farm House

Living in an old farm house has its blessings and tortures. Tortures are finicky plumbing, air leaks in the winter, sticky window sashes, and archaic floor plans. Blessings are cozy spaces, high ceilings, charm and very desirable locations. The best spots to build were taken early on in the development of the eastern US, so often the best views, water access and amenity a access are near old houses.

Amenities? No we are not going to claim any nearby amenities. You have to drive close to twenty miles for that, from here. Unless of course you are considering a beach, boat launch, or farm stand amenities...yes that you can get right here in the neighborhood..

The blessing we have been granted the most of, is peace, quiet, and natural surrounding. Those are a balm that cannot be sold.  It is so quiet here I have learned to tell what bird is nearby by its song or call. It is so peaceful here that you can hear yourself think...and you can think straight! But the natural surroundings, that is where our  cup runneth over. We have water views from nearly every window of this old farmhouse. As I said many old houses were built on choice locations...this is one. Spectacular water views, can not begin to describe the experience of watching the water here. The light changes through out the day, and each change bring a  colorful delight if the light is right. Today's post is going to be photos of those spectacular moments. Nightly we are captivated by engulfing color and natural majesty. I try to take some photos when it is breathtaking, but this is one area where we have a blessing of plenty...amazing sunsets and glowing sunrises....and striking daylight water scenes. So I now share, enjoy.
