Bathroom Renovations , Delta tub unit and Maple vanity with granite top

After-

After a long interlude renovations have again begun on the Shore Side Farmhouse. The bathroom in this house was the pits and stayed the pits for about ten years. I don't know how we tolerated it. In fact, I did not tolerate it. I moved out!...that's another story. After all these years something has been done with it. In fact its quite better, now that something has been done with it. A rather nice updating has been done, with a few holdovers being recycled but mostly new items in the renovation.

The bath had turquoise/green fixtures(as seen to the left in the only before shot I could find)...well turquoise toilet and sink...when we moved in. Please note that all the plumbing pipes were mounted on the walls, not in them!!! The tasteless former owners had replaced the turquoise sink...or maybe I should say upgraded (in their view) the turquoise wall sink to a 1980s oak plywood vanity with a beige sink. Around the turquoise tub they put a white tub "surround". "Surround" is in quotes because it was nothing more than a sheet of plastic no thicker than 3/16th of an inch,  that was seriously ugly and had ceased to be white many years ago. The surround had mellowed to a dull vintage orange beige due to the iron in the water.... All in all a great look.Beige sink and turquoise fixtures, what a fashion forward combo! Anyway, believe it or not Mr happily lived with this for over ten years. Thankfully it all went to the great bathroom in the sky, or more practically the dump, this past year.

Gratefully it was replaced with a super Delta brand tub, deep enough to actually soak in...bubble baths always a good thing...with a white surround with convenient shelves to hold shampoos etc. and a white elongated bowl tall height toilet with push button plumbing.

A deep wonderful tub on this Delta unit. This is really a great product, I love it! Deep, comfortable and easy to clean!

so white, shiny and clean....we love this unit, the first of its kind we approve of...

That Delta set is a winner, for sure. So is the vanity, granite top and the deep sink. Next time I will share info about the vanity and sink.
