Heat glorious heat...even if is just in one room. A new separate thermostat was installed in our bedroom. It was an effective improvement! For the first time we had constant balanced heat in our bedroom for the whole night. Yes, for the first time! When I awoke in the morning I was comfortable. My nose wasn't dried up like the Inuit salmon catch drying out in the Alaska sun. It felt normal...the pleasure of small things.
Mr worked arduously yesterday to accomplish this feat. He worked up in the arctic attic snaking wires into the bedroom wall. He had to insert wires through multiple layers of "solutions" installed in the attic over the original structure, and on the second floor in the ceiling area. These "solutions" ranged from spongy sheets of plywood laid upon the rafters for an attic floor, insulation installed backwards, a hung metal ceiling grid with fiberboard panels hung over/from the ceiling on the second floor, and the remains of the original plaster ceiling of the second floor. There were so many layers he couldn't even find a clear space to thread the thermostat wire into the room wall. Some how he did it. He persevered and accomplished the feat...motivated by frozen digits for sure. I tell you, I will testify....cold is a great motivator. Upon completion of the task, he collapsed into a chair, not to be heard from until the following morning.
