Even more snow!

It is hard to believe the amount of snow we have had this year. The eastern shore does not usually get hit like this. (12 inches Saturday) Somehow the fact that we are surrounded by water seems to cushion us from the mounds of snow that build up on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay, but not this year. It is like our snow angels have forgotten to sheild us. The good news is, it doesn't usually hang around too long. When I lived in New York you could be looking at ugly grey mounds of snow for the next six months after a big snowfall, here chances are it will be gone by tomorrow. Well, this time that might not be literally true, but the temps for today and tomorrow are supposed to be in the 30s so it could be asta la vista baby by Wednesday!

When we went outside to dig out the cars, my car was under so much snow, we could barely see it. Both vehicles were swamped by snow drifts...spectacularly beautiful snow drifts. Of course I had to photograph them. After analyzing the situation we realized that the wind ripping down the river had moved all the snow off of the lawns, to around the vehicles. The obvious plan was to back the cars out of the snow drift and drive them around the house to a blown out spot on the other side of the house. It was like moving into a virtual world...leaving the one with five foot deep snow drifts...into the world with just a sprinkling of snow. It is very weird. We have left the five foot snow drifts to the sun, hopefully it will clear out our usual entrance and walkway of the three to four feet of snow on it. We moved our entrance and exits to the kitchen door and it will stay there until the place melts.

I have to share some photos and videos of the beautiful snow scenes. I think it is going to be a few days before we have any house changes. Back when I started this blog I made my significant other commit to doing one thing daily to improve our life. We want to get back to it.
