Let us Digress to Assess....

BEFORE: Peeling staircase & bannister

AFTER:Painted & scraped anew

Okay, this is strictly for myself. This whole gig of not having a clean fresh place to crash gets awfully tedious at times. Too often it seems a giant waste of time and money to have to do all of this renovation. It was not willingly taken on, it was precipated by the financial crash...suffered,  not chosen. In light of that, I am going to do some retrospective comparisons of our projects. I don't know if I have the photographs to do this, but I will find out the answer to that question in short order. Unfortunately our projects are most often begun by default. The pane falling out of the window sash last week is such an occassion.  When this happens panic sets in and the proper "pre-renovation" photos are not taken to record the original mess. Starting the project begins promptly because of need. Risking the possiblility of no before photos, I am going to try to make some comparisons here and I will hope I have the illustrations I need. Here goes.

The "Harry Potter" closet, as the chickies have come to call it, is a good candidate for this hit parade. I know I have before pix of this project, it was tedious and long, but it did have a big payoff. The photos should tell the story.
