I bought several bags of tulips and other spring bulbs at 75% off late in the season, but the snow came unexpectedly early leaving me with bags of tulips, daffodils, grape hyacinths, crocus and chinodoxa. I only paid for $10 for almost 200 bulbs. If one set of the bunch blooms I will still be in a winning position. Only time will answer this question! On the gardening front we were also considering what vegetables we should plant. We had a bumper crop last summer thanks to my daughter who planted for us last spring. That was a major blessing. The vegetable garden was a real pleasure. That and the herbs made cooking an adventure. I have not had that many fresh tomatoes in many years. The heirloom variety shown here on the right was a juicy red red red delight. We planted in a strange place because we lost the first garden we started last summer to wild critters...so we started again up near the house and all went well. We were quite surprised how much fun we had with the garden. Its proximity to the porch , the place where we spent all of our time, made it easy to tend and really kept us in touch with everything that was happening in it. It also provided much entertainment for our guests.
Not much else happening on the reno front. We are involved in another project for the next week or two so the improvements here will likely be on hold, just yard clean up and light repairs. Mr did do some barn painting, but no photos yet. The job still is not complete, but this reminds me I should take some pictures.
A light entry, but I was feeling guilty for not posting anything at all. I'll include a photo or two of spring rolling in here. It does come a little later than other areas because we are on the water and the cold of the water keeps it cooler here.
Hopefully I will have some photos of a painted storage barn next time. Who knows?
