Its April, hooray

I can't bewveew it, I can't beeveew it! Spring is finally happening. Those frozen cold winter days have passed. I can handle what this season has to throw at me. I know that! I have some yellow and red tulips blooming. Today I had some new blooms, a daffodil with a multiflower head bloomed for the first time ever, a handful of grape hyacinths, and the forythia are waning.

It has been a very exciting few days here at the construction site. The relatives came to visit and that was a wonderful blessing. It was so nice to see everyone, even if I didn't get to spend much time with them. All three of my chickies were in one place. That does not happen very often. That too was a wonderful blessing. It has been such an effort to prepare for this family visit and it was worth all of the efforts we put in. I am very grateful.

My guests had some great experiences while here at the farmhouse.  A walk on the beach put us in the middle of a big fishing event. The rockfish are running back up the rivers from the ocean.  It is catch and release fishing, of lunker fish..we saw a 24 inch, a 34 inch and today the relatives met someone who caught a  42 inch rock, right there surf casting from the river shoreline. Beautiful healthy fish caught and respectively returned to the bay. Then walking on the same beach we came upon a mated pair of ospreys, protecting their "big bird " nest up in the top of a dead tree.  We were very close and had a great view of the very impressive nest sitter. Today my sister saw a bald eagle on a dead tree on the tip of the point opposite out house. Then my youngest found a tiny half dollar size baby terrapin turtle in the surf right on our beach. Squeals filled the air upon its discovery, and I couldn't tell if it was terror or delight. I found it was delight, big delight, a close encouter with the natural world.

A good day, a very good day.
