Not much on the construction front, as Mr is aching. That has put a hold on progress....a big and painful hold. Such is life. In the absence of a working carpenter, the priorities have changed. The gardens have received much attention and care. The flowers are progressing nicely and quickly. I think the improving and warming weather has made life much more comfortable for them and rewarding for us....As for the food garden, that is another story.
The veggie garden is lumbering along slowly but surely. It is yielding fruit, literally and figuratively. The spinach are not much bigger than when planted, and it has even had the temperature drop that it likes at night, but I swear we must have something in there munching on them, and we have yet to figure out what it is. Any thoughts on our culprits?
The yield is with the peppers. They have set fruit, they are so tiny they are amazing...but it is happening! Here take a look...
No guarantees, but one of my personal flaws is putting to much faith in potential. These are looking good though. Not so good looking in the eggplant department. That is looking very yellow and limp. Hope it is just waiting for some heat. My sugar snap peas are perking up just fine, they have made it to the fence and should be climbing it within two days.
That's them behind the bricks at the middle and bottom of the photo. They were an afterthought, that I should have thought more about because they are thriving and I would love lots of pea pods. I thought it was too hot already so I just put a few in , and it was a sorry decision. I predict a competition between the peas and the morning glories for fence space. A good problem in my book, that it morning glories in front of the fence to and bottom. They weren't exactly flourishing until we had a soaking rain last night and now they are ecstatic, drunk with water! Here's another shot of the morning glories stretching out. Who would believe that they could double in size overnight, just because of the rain. That is what I love about gardening, you just never know the end of the story.
My zuccini seeds have grown to a nice mound, volunteer tomatoes to the top right with some cuke seedlings I grew, and my butternut squash seeds to the left top, next to some purchased broccoli plants seen below.
Well enough for today. I'm taking on the flower garden tomorrow. Took some nice shots today that I will post then.
