Strange bug day

I saw these two critters in the garden today, so I had to post. They were way too interesting and not the usual fare. First is this HUGE moth of some sort. This baby is half as large as my hand....look at my finger next to it...this is NOT photoshop. I thought this thing could be a bat it was so large!
It actually was kind of frightening until I ascertained that it was indeed a moth...a monsterous moth...as my friend said: MOTHRA returns!

Then this other giganto caterpillar shows up again on my parsley. I can politely move this creature, as I have another time or two, off of my parsley...and yet he manages to return. Obviously he has "parsley zone"  software extraudinare! I cut parsley to cook with the other day.  I bring it in, start to prepare and then I find this beautiful caterpiller hidden in the leaves of the parsley. I give him a break, since I am such a sucker for wildlife, and I take him far away outside. I put him way far away from my plant, hoping he would find another means of sustainence. Oh he found food alright, he came right back to my parsley plant. What a homing device this guy must contain! I go to harvest more parsley yesterday and there he is again, despite being moved to Siberia. If only I could find my natural food so easily and cheaply! So here is the big kahuna
The thing that really saved this guy is that his color is absolutely breathtaking. I just could not destroy a natural wonder like this. His color is amazing. Just look at this last big photo. I know I am a sucker for beauty!
