Beautiful caterpillar
I could not let this lie. I had to check it out. Suspecting that such a beautiful caterpillar had to grow into a beautiful butterfly, I pursued the answer. I have done this research before, but I forgot the answer. I will admit that I squashed two small caterpillars before I bothered to check it out further. Then I found a big one and said I have to know. A few clicks of the mouse and bang! I find the answer. This caterpillar turns into the butterfly shown here, a Spicebush Swallowtail butterfly....the butterfly that inhabits my garden and polinates my flowers and vegetables. I felt soooo guilty. These little guys bring me so much more in joy than the annoyance contained in the munched parsley and dill. (They were in my dill last year, that is when I first looked them up.) Its all in the balance of nature isn't it? Or should I say the balance of life. Every move you take, every choice you make, every decision is an action and every action has a reaction. Good or bad the interweaving decisions of daily existance is a constant ongoing flow of life that effects the world way beyond your world, or even it effects your life in ways you don't know or imagine. Its just something to think about.
