In the course of events I have made a photograph collection of doorknobs and locks found in the house. They are so diverse one has to think that they come from different time periods, and have been replaced over time with less interesting members. I don't have a lot to say about them, the photos speak for themselves. I do love the ones that look marbelized but unfortunately there is only one or two of them. The others are pretty nondescript, but have their place.

Antique House Doorknobs and Locks
Living in an old house is often like living in an old junk shop. You just never know what is going to turn up. So far we have found an animal jaw bone that we cannot identify....a large jaw bone! A leather boot without a match, an old nail barrel, the shard remnants of a cedar shingle roof lurking in the ceiling of the kitchen, original horsehair-seashell/lime plaster in the Harry Potter closet, wallpaper under ceiling tiles and cast iron heating grates under carpet on the floors, have all been uncovered in the process of renovating or cleaning the place up. Its always an adventure, not always a good one, but an adventure no less.
