The Christmas tree is being decorated as I write. It is not a one stroke process when you have so many other tasks to do like we have. It went up about five days ago and every day a bit more gets put on. L came over to help and that was a BIG gift to me. It would have taken twice as much time if I didn't have help.
There is an irony here. We have been sorting out some boxes, and throwing out some items no longer needed. We have kept up with our chiseling away assignments to try to make this big mess a home, but there is one thing that has been put aside for all of it. The boat is still in the water. Hmmm, December 4, and boat still out there. Not good. We are not alone, we have lots of other folks in the neighborhood whose boats are also still in the water. It is not that unusual. It feels really unusual to us because where we come from, the water could be freezing up already and we would never get the boat out until next summer. One great thing about here is that it is a pretty good bet that we will have a nice 60 degree day to haul the boat back onto the trailer for the winter. The other great part about living here is that we have great neighbors that all help each other to do such things and it makes life easier and expenses cheaper for all of us.....so here is a toast to the neighbors "caio amicos! andiamo avanti"
