The work on the foundation is complete. There is a bit of backfill that has to be completed, but it is way too cold to do that. The ugly shingles are returned to their places and the ugly cast concrete stoop has been put back in place. On a warm respite of a day, a nice 50 degrees, we were able to return the antique bricks to their pre-renovation locations, in a running bond creating a walkway down to the front. All in all things look pretty back to normal. We are again using the doorway, which was sorely missed for the last few months. It has returned to its original position, though a lot of consideration was given to moving it. Right now it is too darn cold to do anything like that. When we moved here, some friends moved to South Carolina. They report temperatures of any icy 19 degrees. We are holding in at 24 degrees at night and mid thirties during the day. We figure we won that roll of the dice, but still too cold to do much work at all. So, the tools have been laid down and other projects like emptying the hundreds of moving boxes that still await inspection, have moved into focus.
There isn't much action here, so not much to photograph. I guess I could photograph the replaced walkway, but its not too interesting. I'll keep you posted, something will definitely rise to the top, like cream in milk, pretty soon. Something tells me it will likely be that frozen water line to the toilet that wishes some new Tyvek and siding would go on the house now rather than later!
