Birds, Rooster

As Mr Rogers always said...."a beautiful day in the neighborhood". It sure was beautiful here today. Lots of smoke coming from fires over in the wildlife preserve, mounds of black smoke filled the sky.

Two new visitors today, not much else new around here. Our first hummingbird arrived today. A nice plump male visited the feeder around five thirty. It was such a surprise. Hummers were not expected for another two weeks.

My second visitor is becoming way too regular. He is quite fond of the bird food, easy to figure out why!
He's a big boy, noisy and bossy! Not the brightest guy on the planet. He is sneaking into the yard to eat the corn put out for the wild birds, yet he announces his arrival with a "cock a doodle do" which then brings one of us outside to shoo him away.  Guess Pavlov's principle is not working here.
