This turns out to be a nice accidental garden combination. I love it when I hit the jackpot by finding a complementary grouping of simultaneous color. Phlox sublata, also known as Mountain Pinks, are backed up by some fine healthy mint that smells great when I brush by it. They set each other off very nicely.
A very dominating plant here, this bulb just takes over a space and doesn't yield to any other plants. I know this as Star of Bethlehem, even though it is a cinch to grow it sure does perk the garden up with a bright white sprinkle of star like blooms. I should have included a photo of it next to the Grape Hyacinths, that too is a winning combination.
I have no idea where this white Iris came from. I am losing my mind, so anything is possible. I somehow vaguely remember begging a piece off of someone, but for the life of me I can not remember who! It has never bloomed here before so I must have planted it last year.
Purple is my color, so this Redbud is my kind of tree. The shock of this color is super! I don't think it is obvious in this photo, but the bees are so busy on this tree they just ignore me when I am in that area. This tree is a winner that returns every year to start the cascade of spring blooming. Sure I have some pears and apple trees blooming with some pretty heads of white color, but this has them beat.
