Spring Garden, Camillias

Though I am in the middle of documenting our kitchen renovation...a big water view window....I had to share these pictures. Spring is definitely on its way here, or should I say it is arriving. February as it is, these magnificent flowers are blooming right now. Growing up in New York we never saw anything as spectacular as this, there in February!  The Camillias started blooming here several weeks ago, and I came upon this one in my travels this week.  Isn't it perfect for Valentine's Day?  I saw this next to a 19th century church here, and just had to share it. It is a beauty!  I wish it was growing in my garden. My heart is set on getting some Camillias, but by the time they mature, I am sure to be long gone. Mature Camillias are wonderful. Such is life, its all a matter of time or money!
