Hurricane Sandy, Threat at Shore Side Farm House

Here we sit wondering whether to stay or go. We have the security of high ground, at least for the house....but an island we may be, if the storm rolls in as projected. Evacuation warnings have been posted. Our zip code is listed as an area to leave. We do have a place to go to, but why evacuate? The power outages will happen area wide..if we evacuate, we could be sitting in the dark somewhere else. That is not an attractive possibility, so as of now we are going to stay right here. Our house sits high and we pray for the best.
