Fresh snowfall

We awoke to white everywhere. Clumps of the frozen stuff clung to all tree branches, bushes and the birds feeder. The white coating wrapped all that the eye could see. The view from our windows is spectacular and the snow just added to the serenity and sense of wonder. The local river is frozen over for the first time since about 1985. As usual we have primo timing. Doing insulation projects in the coldest winter in twenty five years is great timing...isn't it?

The good news is that yesterday's projects seem to have improved our pursuits to get warm significantly. We called for a boiler serviceman back before Christmas and they forgot about us. After a reminder call this week they sent us some help. The boiler serviceman finally came to set the burner on the boiler. He changed the nozel, made some other changes and seems to have set us on a better course of action. His expertise seems to have made the boiler quieter, and he gave us much insight into our options, and choices to be made, for improving energy efficiency. The increased insulation installed yesterday also seems to have improved things...at least that is our perception this morning. Our friend came in and commented that it was toasty in here....a completely new experience. Though I think toasty is pushing the description envelope, there is improvement for sure. Things are looking up.
