Everyday is a revelation

This place is a journey. That is the good part. I enjoy the spontaneousness of living here. Two different varieties of turtles showed up this past week. A water based one, the Diamondback Terrapin,

and a terrified scared Box Turtle, a pretty darn typical yard turtle.

They showed up a day or two apart. Both brought a smile to my face, and a protective wave of affection to my heart to make sure that they are protected to go about their lives in a safe way here. Their presence and lives, enhance mine. I need to protect that.

For the first time in my life, I saw a bluebird last week. I wasn't looking for it. I wasn't bird watching at all. I was working in the garden and I looked up when I heard a noise, and there he sat right in front of me. He had a red breast, blue back and wings, and a very pointed beak.  "What is that?" flashed across my thoughts and I then realized that I was looking at the Eastern Bluebird I had been trying to see for about twenty years, since I first started bird watching. I am a casual birdwatcher. I don't take trips to specifically do it, but I educate myself and I keep my eyes open. It has been a productive habit. It has enhanced my being by keeping me aware of where I am and what  is happening at the moment. It keeps me in now, as Eckhart Tolle would toute.  So that is what life is for now, letting things unfold, not ramming my agenda through the seive of the rat race. Existence is an unfolding bud of potential;  we don't have anywhere near as much influence on the final result as we think we do.
