Paint floor

The painted floor saga has ended for the time being. The unending marathon of moving furniture from side to side, scraping, brushing, layer upon layer of paint and layer upon layer of polyurethane has ended for now. Why for now? The holidays have arrived and with their arrival, persistence and patience have fled. The finish of the project will wait until after the first of the year....or until never again. Most rooms are done, 100%, totally unadulterated done. That felt damn good, and they look damn good. They look and feel good enough to move into...and so it has come to pass....

I can't express how good it feels to arrive at this from here:

 This took months of taking furniture and rugs in and out of rooms, moving boxes and boxes of stuff and then layering paint and final finish. It is surprising how something as simple as flooring can change a whole room and the feel of the whole place.  The peeling, chipping and unpainted floor just sucked the life out of the room and made it extremely uncomfortable to live in. The clean fresh coat of paint has give a new look to the place that can now be enhanced with some rugs and decor. Oh, this was a long time coming!
