Garden cut flowers, Last flowers of the year?

I had to post this photo of my flowers. This darling bouquet was cut in my garden today. I figure it is likely to be the last flowers of the season. We often have flowers as late as Thanksgiving, but there is usually not enough to make a cut flower arrangement. Today there were enough blooms to make an arrangement and I am just thrilled. This fall has been the payoff to compensate for the complete lack of blooms this summer.

The purple and pink colors are a great infusion of color and energy. For some reason a cut bouquet like this just lifts my spirits and lightens my soul. I just love that fact that I grew them.  The bunch is made up of cosmos, mums, and Buddleia (butterfly bush). The are a few short green sprigs of Euonomous for some structure and neutrality in the arrangement.

What do you think? This little arrangement sits on the windowsill over the sink, and has the background of the waterfront behind it. A sweet and bright  little vignette, don't you agree?
